#87. UFC 54 - Light Heavyweight Championship: Chuck Liddell(c) vs Jeremy Horn
This is Chuck Liddell's first title defense. Horn cautiously feels out The Iceman, waiting for Liddell to make the first move before he attacks. Liddell looks very comfortable while Horn doesn't look as confident. Chuck Liddell breaks through Jeremy Horn's defense and knocks him down with a Jab, Liddell attacks but Horn was able to defend himself. Chuck smells blood and he refuses to step back, knocking Horn down again but unable to finish the fight. To add more damage, Chuck lands a spinning back-fist knocking Horn down just seconds before the bell.
In what seems like the only logical way to survive, Jeremy Horn comes out attacking, nailing a jab and attempting a takedown. Liddell knocks Horn down AGAIN with a 1-2 combo, although he's unable to finish. Horn shoots in for a takedown but he looks out of it.
Both fighters waiting for their opportunity to strike. Very uneventfull third round with both guys trying to be counter-fighters. With a few seconds remaining, Liddely counters a jab and lands some strikes but nothing too dangerous. Very dissapointing third round.
Both fighters continue to be cautious. Jeremy goes down again from a jab, he tells the referee that he can't see and the referee calls the fight.
Winner by TKO and STILL LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT Champion: Chuck Liddell
(Chuck Liddell looked like a monster in the first two rounds then the fight started to get dull when both fighters refused to press forward. Still entertaining though. **1/2)
#86. UFC 45 - Middleweight Fight: Evan Tanner vs Phil Baroni
Phil Baroni comes out striking, knocking Evan Tanner around. Tanner goes for a takedown, trying to avoid Baroni's strikes. Baroni trys to push Tanner away so that he can land some more punches. The referee stops the fight to check the cut under Evan Tanner's eye. Everythings okay and the fight continues. Baroni continues to press forward. Tanner grabs a clinch and starts landing a flurry of KNEES! It seems like Evan is running away from Baroni's stand-up. Tanner takes Baroni down with a double leg and gets full mount, Evan Tanner goes off, landing forearm and forearm untill the referee stops the fight. Apparently, Phil Baroni thought the ref asked him if "he's okay" rather than "do you quit?".

(Very Entertaining fight. Evan Tanner made one helluva comeback. ***)
#85. UFC 49 - Welterweight Fight: Nick Diaz vs Karo Parisyan
Parisyan goes for a takedown but Diaz scrambles to his feet. While pressed up against the cage, Diaz grabs a hold of a Kimura and takes Karo down, trying to submit him. Parisyan rolls out Nick Diaz and gets ontop of the guard. Karo lets Nick up and applies a Guilotine which Diaz slams Parisyan down to the mat to escape. Karo slams his opponent down with ANOTHER takedown. Karo tries to end the fight with a KO on the ground but Nick Diaz does a good job defending. The round ends with a slugfest! The first round was a takedown clinic!
Parisyan goes for a takedown, Diaz sweeps and gets ontop. Parisyan tries to roll out but gives up his back, Karo just somehow transitioned up to his feet and grabs a Guilotine. Amazing! Both fighters exchange strikes up against the cage and Karo proclaims that he got a thumb to his eye. The fight re-starts with some more bombs being thrown by both fighters. Parisyan slams Diaz with a Double Leg before the end of the round.
Parisyan scores a takedown, Diaz applies a Triangle but Karo slips out. Nick Diaz goes for a Kimura, taking Karo down but his mouthpiece fell and the referee stops the fight. Fight re-starts and some more takedowns. Karo trys to end the fight while ontop with some bombs but the final round ends.
Winner by Split Decision, 28-29, 29-28 and 30-27, Karo Parisyan
(This fight was a takedown clinic. Fight filled with some good striking but even better Jiu Jitsu. A must-see fight for any Jiu Jitsu/Wrestling fans. ***)
#84. UFC 30 - Heavyweight Fight: Pedro Rizzo vs Josh Barnett
Barnett seems to be throwing more strikes than Rizzo, trying to land a KO blow. Josh Barnett shows quick bursts of explosiveness, throwing flurries of punches and kicks at a time. Barnett catches Rizzo with a STIFF leg kick and Rizzo is PISSED. They get in a clinch and start exchanging punches! The referee breaks them apart because Rizzo was holding onto Barnett's head. The action picks up, both guys looking for the kill now. Pedro lands a STIFF jab but Josh Barnett tells him to "BRING IT!". They exchange some more stiff strikes before the round ends. Very exciting first round.
Both fighters come out attacking. Pedro lands a BIG right jab but that just pisses off Barnett, responding with a stiff jab of his own. Josh Barnett explodes again with a nice combination of strikes. So explosive for such a big guy. Pedro Rizzo avoids one of Barnett's jabs and destroys him with a right hook, knocking Josh Barnett out cold!
Winner by KO: Pedro Rizzo
(Very exciting brawl! Although Barnett lost, his speed and agression was very impressive. ***)
#83. UFC 49 - Light Heavyweight Fight: Chuck Liddell vs Vernon White
White claims Liddell has been avoiding him while The Iceman just wants to knock him out. Chuck attacks first but White responds, he ISN'T SCARED!! Vernon and Chuck throw wild punches untill Liddell takes it to the ground. Liddell stands up and they continue to throw wild punches. Chuck knocks White down but couldn't finish him. Down goes Vernon White again, Liddell seems to be enjoying this. Fight slows down for a bit untill White attempts a jab and falls, Vernon White looks like he's not all there. Vernon trips over himself again, he tries to attack but FINALLY gets knocked out by a straight right jab. Good night.

(If you're looking for a technical masterpiece, look elsewhere, this was an all-out brawl. Tons of wild punching. Although some may look at this fight as being sloppy, I found it very exciting. ***)
#82. UFC 54 - Welterweight Fight: Frank Trigg vs George St. Pierre
Trigg presses forward but Pierre punishes him with a counter punch. Pierre takes him down and DOMINATES. George St. Pierre is in the full-mount, landing bombs, Frank Trigg powers himself up but gives up his back allowing Pierre to apply a Choke, which goes nowhere. St. Pierre goes into full-mount, landing bombs untill Frank Trigg gives up his back AGAIN. This time, George St. Pierre applies a proper Rear Naked Choke and forces Trigg to tap.
Winner by Submission: George St. Pierre
(George St. Pierre absolutely embarrasses Frank Trigg on the ground, completely dominating once the fight got to the floor. ***)
#81. The Ultimate Fighter 6 Finale: Welterweight bout: Jon Koppenhaver vs Jared Rollins
This is before Jon Koppenhaver went totally insane and legally changed his name to "War Machine". Jared goes for an early takedown, War Machine stands up and returns the favor with a takedown of his own. Rollins lands some nice elbows to the top of Jon's head while on the bottom. War Machine doesn't seem like he's even trying to pass guard but lands some stiff forearms which bust Rollins' open.
Both guys come out swinging. War Machine scores a takedown. Koppenhaver is bleeding big time from all of those elbows to the top of his head. Much like the first round, neither fighter makes any attempt to get out of guard. The referee has had enough and stands the fight up. War Machine rocks Rollins with a jab. Jared scores a takedown and we get some more striking from the guard. Jon tries to get out from the guard but gives up his back, J-Rock attempts a Rear Naked Choke but he's way too slippery. The round ends with Jared absolutely destroying War Machine with hammerfists.
Rollins attempts a takedown but War Machine lands ontop of him. Jon Koppenhaver lands some deadly forearms but it isn't enough and the referee stands them up. J-Rock lands a knee, knocking War Machine down. Somehow, Jon Koppenhaver sweeps J-Rock and gets ontop, landing a flurry of strikes untill the referee stops the fight. What a final burt of energy!

(A great battle on the ground. War Machine pulled out a great comeback at the end of round 3. J-Rock would've probably won by decision if War Machine didn't get the TKO. Good stuff. ***)
#80. UFC 42 - Light Heavyweight Fight: Rich Franklin vs Evan Tanner
Both fighters looking for an opening, throwing some strikes and seeing what lands. Tanner looks like he's relying on some knee-strikes. Franklin lands a hook, knocking Tanner loopy. Evan Tanner looks scared of Franklin's stand-up after getting rocked, moving away from Franklin. Rich Franklin lands a kick/hook combo and knocks Tanner out, the referee stops the fight.
Winner by TKO: Rich Franklin
(Not much of a fight. Tanner seemed scared of Franklin after getting hit hard. **)
#79. UFC 69 - Welterweight Championship: George St. Pierre(c) vs Matt Serra
Some quick exchanges. Pierre seems to be throwing a lot of body and head kicks, none really doing any damage yet. Serra rocks Pierre with a hook, knocking him down, Pierre tries to recover but Matt Serra smells BLOOD!! Serra attacks him like a shark, brutally destroying him with punches. The referee stops the fight.
Winner by TKO and NEW WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION: Matt Serra
(Wow when Matt Serra sees an open opportunity, he really takes it. Non-stop striking once Serra noticed that St. Pierre was knocked loopy. **1/2)
#78. UFC 76 - Heavyweight Fight: Keith Jardine vs Chuck Liddell
Chuck presses forward while Jardine backs away, throwing some jabs to keep Iceman at a distance. Liddell breaks through Keith's defense and throws a flurry of punches, busting Jardine open above the eye. Chuck presses forward, throwing some bombs while Jardine runs away. It was all Chuck Liddell in the first round.
The Ice Man almost falls over after attempting a leg-kick. Keith Jardine says "BRING IT!". The Dean of Mean lands a jab, knocking Chuck Liddell over! Chuck stands back up, pretending like nothing happened. AND KEITH JARDINE IS NO LONGER RUNNING!! Keith begins to press forward, showing waay more confidence. Jardine slips, attempting a jab, and Chuck tries to ends the fight but The Dean of Mean recovers. Keith Jardine looks gassed. Chuck Liddell is so loopy that he goes to the wrong corner at the end of round 2.
Keith Jardine sticks to his gameplan, landing some great leg-kicks. Although the fight slowed down a bit, both guys are still throwing strikes. Jardine rocks Liddell with two jabs but can't knock him down. 30 seconds left and the crowd is on their feet!
Winner by Split Decision, Keith Jardine
(What a transformation between rounds. Jardine found his confidence in the second round, after knocking Liddell down and never lost it after that. Great brawl. ***)
#77. UFC Fight Night - Light Heavyweight Fight: Anderson Silva vs James Irvin
Anderson attacks first, landing a 2-jab combo. Irvin attempts a leg kick but it gets caught by Silva who follows up with a JAB ON THE CHIN, knocking him down. Silva punishes him on the ground untill the referee stops it. James Irvin somehow manages to be bleeding from his eyes?!
Winner by TKO: Anderson Silva
(Not much of a fight but Silva proves how dangerous he can be. **)
#76. UFC 42 - Welterweight Championship: Matt Hughes(c) vs Sean Sherk
Matt Hughes scores a takedown, Matt tries to get into full-guard but Sherk does a good job defending. They stand-up, Sean Sherk is busted open above his eye, Matt Hughes gets a single leg takedown. Hughes lands a couple of elbows while he's ontop, trying to open Sherk's cut wider.
Hughes shows off his stand-up skills, landing a few jabs and kicks. I guess he gets tired of puncing and decides to take Sherk down again. Sean Sherk kicks Matt Hughes off of him but Hughes jumps right back ontop before he could stand back up. The ref stands them up and Hughes gets ANOTHER takedown. Hughes is dominating!
Sherk goes for a double leg but Hughes avoids it. They exchange a few jabs. Sean Sherk gets a double leg and Hughes is on his back for the first time of the fight. Sherk lands a couple of elbows but gets caught in a Kimura, Sean explodes out of the submission and goes back to pounding Hughes. The referee stands them up. Hughes goes for a knee but gets taken down. Sherk lands a few more elbows on the ground before the end of the round.
Matt Hughes kicks off the fourth round with a takedown. Hughes works his way to side-control. After a couple of stiff elbows, Hughes gets full-mount for a few seconds untill Sherk grapevines one of Matt's legs. Matt Hughes punishes Sherk with some elbows untill the end of the round. Sean Sherk does not look good.
Final round. Sherk goes for a single leg, taking Matt down. Sherk lands a couple of bombs while he's ontop. Referee stands them up. Sherk goes for a takedown but Hughes stuffs him. Matt puts Sherk on his back and goes back to landing elbows. The fight ends with Hughes ontop.
Winner by Unanimous Decision, 48-45, 48-47, 49,46, and STILL WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION: Matt Hughes
(The fight was pretty slow and boring at some times. Hughes looked really dominant though. **)
#75. UFC 1 - Tournament Finals: Royce Gracie vs Gerard Gordeau
Royce gets a takedown and manages to get a rear naked choke after passing a very sloppy guard. Annnd it's goodnight for Gordeau.
Winner by Submission: Royce Gracie
(Fight felt like it lasted for 20 seconds. Gracie dominated in a time where nobody had a clue how to defend his Jiu Jitsu. *)
#74. UFC 58 - Middleweight Championship: Rich Franklin(c) vs David Loiseau
Fight starts off with a couple of kick exchanges. Seems like this fight aint going to the ground. Loiseau gets rocked with a jab, stumbling him backwards into the cage. David catches one of Franklin's kicks and lands a hook, rocking Franklin. Rich Franklin presses forward, landing some jabs. Rich Franklin lands a flurry of jabs and David Loiseau is RUNNING! Franklin knocks David down and just as he's about to knock him out the round ends. SAVED BY THE BELL!!
Rich Franklin continues to press forward and David Loiseau continues to run away. Franklin knocks David down but he's unable to finish the fight. Loiseau has a huge mouse growing out of the side of his head. David continues to run away and the referee warns him to stop being a pussy. Loiseau tries to run away from Franklin's strikes but gets caught and taken down. Apparently, Franklin broke his hand laying the smackdown during the second round.
Franklin lands a bunch of punches with his broken hand then slams David down with a Belly-to-Belly. Franklin smashes Loiseau with a kick on the ground then lets him stand-up. The referee stops the fight to check on Loiseau's eye but it's fine. David Loiseau gets a lucky jab, knocking Franklin down but the Welterweight Champion quickly recovers. Franklin throws some wild punches, trying to finish the fight. The goose egg over David's eye looks disgusting! Rich Franklin lands a head-kick to end the third round.
These two guys are proving how tough they are. Loiseau lands a head-kick then slips trying to follow up. Franklin gets ontop of him, landing some punches to the side of his head. David gets to his fight but gets slammed back down with a GERMAN SUPLEX!! They stand back up, exchanging some punches.
Last round. Loiseau lands some kicks, looks like he's looking for a knock out. Franklin scores a double leg takedown. David Loiseau tries to scramble to his feet and scores a takedown of his own but ends up getting slammed back onto the guard. Franklin gets full-guard and David gives up his back. Rich Franklin attempts a choke but David does a good job defending it. Fight ends with Rich Franklin dominating ontop.
Winner by Unanimous Decision, 50-42, 50-42, 50-43, and STILL WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION: RICH FRANKLIN
(Although Rich Franklin dominated the fight, both fighters proved how tough they are. David's goose egg looked absolutely horrible by the time the fight was done. If Loiseau didn't run away as much as he did during the first two rounds, it would've been a much better and probably quicker fight. **1/2)
